Gordon Murray's Mk1 Ford Escort
Had the pleasure of working for Gordon for over 5 yrs, a very humble, super innovative and extremely clever car designer.
He has designed many championship winning F1 cars, the McLaren F1 road and GTR race cars, and more recently through his consultancy business the latest TVR. Knowing a bit about his lightweight approach to car design and eye for attention to detail I hope you will enjoy following the build of a car he has commissioned for himself. Here is Episode 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSiG7oNXC6w

Captain, did you see this article already? What Made the McLaren F1 the World's Greatest Car
I think it's amazing that, 25 years on, the F1 still stands as the pinnacle of automotive engineering, at least for me and a few other journalists/enthusiasts it seems. Of course there have been better, faster and whatever-er cars since, but I guess the first of its kind will always be special.

Also, for those who aren't following closely, here are some of Gordon Murray's projects since the F1. I really like that, for a guy who is best known for designing the world's first hyper car, he actually has a well varied repertoire. I think that is real talent.
