Again, you need to educate yourself on the subsidies and who granted them for what projects.

Then show what subsidies have been reduced or eliminated since end of January 2017.

Yes, they split a couple of years ago: HP Inc, which does personal systems, printers, etc; and HP Enterprise, which does servers, storage, networking, software, etc. I was in the latter.

Bingo! But then, I feel much the same about GM.

The subsidies are apparently going away shortly if the new tax bill passes.... That's gonna KILL electric car sales particularly for that price range (Model 3, Egolf, Leaf, Bolt). $7500 is a big chunk to take out of a 30-35K car... A 100K model S, not so much, but it'll impact them too...

I should know, the only reason I lease an E-golf (great car btw) is because that subsidy made the car itself free to me (lease is $140/mo, less than I spend on gas otherwise, plus other benefits). At full price, no way !!

I'm pretty sure The Tesla 3 will be a failure, it's ugly and it'll be late, by which time VW/Audi/BMW/NIssan/Mini will have similar offering with a normal dashboard and a nose that doesn't look like platypus hit a wall hard !

But Tesla has been branching out into battery manufacturing and they could very likely survive doing that instead... Musk can be difficult but he has a pretty decent track record compared to pelican forum members ;-)
I would not buy TSLA stock though, that's for sure.

Most of the subsidies are on the manufacturing side, not the consumer side.

This. They fleece us differently, but we are fleeced nonetheless.

Good insights there. Almost every manufacturer sees electric as the future. Musk sold PayPal and got rich, then spent it all. Maybe he will sell Tesla technology to one of the majors for $$$ and spend another fortune on another new idea.

That would be an interesting report. I do know the $7500 tax credit for my new Volt is still in place.

No one will do it in our faux outrage, fake news, ADD, Animal Farm social media culture. And once you do it, you have to not only act on it but you have defend yourself from the rest of the moronic culture in our country that chooses sides like choosing sauces for their McNuggets.

One of the reasons I "retired" back in '08...that POS outfit called EDS (the Motormeister of the IT world) was chosen as the outsource provider as executives dismantled my co. They were gonna be sucked up by HP, and I was just burned out on corporate bs like that after living it for 25 years. Could have kept my salary, etc. but I'd had enough so I walked....naw, I happily ran away . HP was once a great tech company with great products....no mas . They've since broken that POS off from the rest...

Legion, I read your other thread about M&A...didn't comment though...I lived it for 25 years...you were spot on .

Are you accusing me of knee-jerk sauce selection? That is so not true. I don't eat McNuggets, but at Arbys having to choose between the red sauce and the white sauce ties me in knots. Sometimes i put red on half the sandwich and white on the other.

LOL! Thanks for the laugh!

I would think the day after Arby's your insides would be tied in knots.

It's a 2 times a year guilty pleasure. That's why it's so hard to decide. If I get it wrong I have to wait 6 months before I allow myself another faux cow meat sammich.
A regular Arby's roast beef, small curly fries, chocolate shake mmmm...
But yes, I get the same after effect as a plate of refreid beans and a black bean burrito.

I see the electric car as only a partial solution. In big cities and for many commuters it is a choice. It moves the pollution to the power plants and out of the city center. I live within a few miles of the I-44 and I-35 and I-40 interchanges. I see all of them as fairly busy with interstate truckers and out of state travelers. For any long trip we will be using petroleum as the energy source for a long time.

The day an electric vehicle can travel 700 to 900 miles in a day and be 100% ready to go the next day just as far electric will take over. That is a long way off.

I plan to drive myself for as long as I can. I can see in the 15 or 20 years the day where I whip out my cell phone and just say "Taxi" or "Uber" or some phrase and a car will show up with no driver. I will get in and tell it where I need to go. It will drive off to another customer and I will say that magic phrase and a different vehicle will show up to take me home. No need to own a car. Just rent seat space when you need it from a self driving car.

I did not leave on my own, but once the dust settled I had a more interesting job, a bigger paycheck, and a 356A, so I got that going for me, which is nice...
