vintage Giulia

Did the desirability of vintage Alfa Romeo Giulias take off before the petrolicious video or after? Honestly, I was totally unaware of them before the petrolicious piece.

Some of us have been Alfa fans for quite a while.
Five decades in my case.

Sure but the video is 3 years old now. Did they take off before that?

Almost bought one when I was stationed in Germany 1970 but instead got a BMW Bavaria 3.0.

1974 GTV 2000? Not sure, it could have been a 1750 with spica injection is a very memorable drive I took.

There was a balance to it that I really haven't experienced since. Just a delight.

I've always loved Alfa's and I've owned three of them but the rust issue never goes away.
I've seen back to bare metal, repaired and the repainted Alfa's start to bubble again in the usual locations within 12 months.

Not sure how true this is but a friend said it's because they used recycled Czechoslovakian steel so "they come with built in rust".

YMMV But this was one of the main reasons I went to German cars in my mid 20s.

Had and sold more than I can remember, before they were hot, dammit. Giulias and Giuliettas, Sprints, Spiders, Duettos, GTVs, Berlinas, 1300, 1600, 1750 & 2000. Oh well, at least I had fun and made some money.

These things get under your skin... As I said above I cleaned it up and took some pics for my "For sale" ad. Problem is, by the time I got home with my pictures, I no longer wanted to sell it...

The reason I'm thinking about it is to find/import an Alpine A110 from the late 60s early 70s.. but they are so hard to find in the US, so impossible to register in California, and getting so pricey that might get me nowhere... I will need to sell the early 911 IFWHen I find one... So I guess the alfa stays..

That is the only car I'll sell the Alfa or early 911 for. But it's safely out of reach...
