Metal prints for garages/toolboxes/man caves
Cross-posting from 911 Parts FS - but I think OT fits too.
I am offering custom prints of your photos on metal sheets that could be: 1. Wall hangings for your man cave or garage 2. Toolbox 'lid liners' (my favorite application - check out photos below from my workshop) 3. Show-car presentation/biography 'poster' for concours events 4. Decorative panels for Yeti coolers (silicone these to the front panels and show them off at track events, etc) I am printing directly on the aluminum, which allows for a far more vivid, sharp, and accurate print than the dye-sub stuff you see at Etsy or flea markets/fairs. Everyone that has seen these in person has been blown away by the quality. This also allows for offering custom sizing. Pricing depends on size, so each job is quoted individually. Here are a few pricing examples, however: 10.5" x 26" - $110 (size of the smaller toolbox lid in the photos) 14" x 26" - $119 (size of the larger toolbox lid in the photos) 20" x 30" - $151 (this size is the largest recommended for most smartphone shots) 30" x 40" - $232 (max size - but need a really high quality DSLR image to work with) If you want a toolbox lid liner, we will ship your print backed with strips of heavy-duty double-sided tape. For Yeti cooler panels, you will need to use your own silicone adhesive to mount the panels. Otherwise, we will mount a basic offset mounting on the back for wall hanging. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1501717436.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1501717436.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1501717884.JPG |
Very cool, is it basically an anodizing process so it is very durable too?

Interested for non-Porsche related prints in various sizes from 8x10 and up with the offset mount. Have used Aluminyze and Bay Photo in the past.Do you offer rounded corners? Lustre or Matte finish in addition in to glossy? You can see my photos for reference at Humble Valley Photography

Rutager - the tech is "giclee" - think inkjet printer gone professional grade/high tech. The print is protected with a laminate, and is thus durable. Part of our 'secret sauce' is getting a really professional finish with the laminate so that air pockets are negligible. Our primary customers are artists and photographers, as well as commercial decorators (think hotels, office buildings, etc) - but this new medium instantly made me think of car guys.
Dean - we've worked with lots of Bay Photo customers. Yes, we can do rounded corners. You're the first to ask about lustre or matte laminate, but we can do it no problem (no cost difference either). Just checked out your site - you have one heck of an eye. Thanks for sharing. I'll email you now - -dtw |

I forgot to mention, I did a couple proofs of some photos I took years ago at Daytona. You can see them below. They are in the 20x30" range, though I don't have exact dimensions in front of me. Anyway, they are on nice photo paper and I'm happy to give one of each away to the next couple customers. There's nothing wrong with them, and they'd make a nice hanging in the garage.
Here they are: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1510338392.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1510338392.JPG |
Can you put holes in the corners prior to printing for easy hanging by wire from the rafters?
