Post counts

Anyone notice post counts aren't updating? Is it just my browser?

sc_rufctr 11-12-2017 06:32 AM

I was at 14,883.

And with this post I'm now at 14,884.

It’s not something I ever look at...

Nope, it's just you.

Okay, here's a test. As I type, my post count is 6730.

Edit: Looks like I'm still in the count.

I wonder if it has something to to with the "failure to completely load" in a timely manner. I posted earlier of how the page doesn't completely load for quite a while--just the spinning circle. Still happens to me, and others I assume. Maybe if you post and leave the page before the loading is complete, that aspect of the record--post count--doesn't always register.

You get cut off when you have more than 15,000. Really way too many posts.

And 17665 after.

So nope, no cut off

It's obviously my account. My Ipad does the same thing. Pelican has been operating strangely lately. It quit working altogether on my iPad using Safari. Had to switch to Firefox.

Yes, what it reports on the left is what your current post count is. Just like, I think, if you change your signature, it changes what's displayed on all of your posts, not just new posts.

masraum 11-12-2017 08:36 AM

Now all of my posts in every thread that I've ever posted in are showing 27,924.

svandamme 11-12-2017 08:39 AM

No they don't. Not anymore

it's a dynamic value , that shows the actual total posts
on all posts you made..

Nickshu 11-12-2017 08:47 AM

Wow I've been on this forum for over 17 years and only have that number you see to your left here...I guess I better get moving to catch up with all you johnny come lately who are in the 5 digits already

I was being facetious. Any excuse to run up my post count is a good one.

stevej37 11-12-2017 08:56 AM

I'm all in for not showing post counts at all. What good does it do?

Steve Carlton 11-12-2017 09:39 AM

It puts a yardstick on how much time we have available to waste.

Jim Richards 11-12-2017 12:12 PM

^^^uh oh.

RKDinOKC 11-12-2017 01:11 PM
