Interesting article from the WSJ perspective. This car might be even better than a bullit Mustang or well set-up 944...but probably not cheap to keep:

Just what one needs for a drive on a crowded I-5...in those conditions, not a bit better than a Bullitt Mustang, a well set up 944, or for that matter an old Tercel.
When stuck for miles behind one truck passing another on a 2 lane freeway, all are pretty much equal.

'Ring lap times are for bragging rights. Nothing more, nothing less. Let the car makers and their factory drivers go at it. It's fun to read about & watch the videos.

Actually...

sometimes there is a little turn around or extra wide shoulder.

If you can make the pass in a few hundred feet...you aren't stuck.

Not that I recommend it, but with great power come greater options.(And greater options to die to.)

All things equal...I would take the GT2 RS over the Mustang or the 944.

Ahhh, but all things aren't equal. Insurance, parts and service costs, and that little thing called purchase price.

Still, a tip of my hat to those who buy such wonderous machines. Without them, the machines wouldn't exist.
