Commando 961 Sport

I didn't see the base price there. The options and accessory prices would seem to up the cost of one stratospherically.

Check cycletrader.com for used 961 Commandos. Produced back in UK after Dreer couldn't make a go of it. Used prices are from 13-20K....

I told one young man who asked my opinion on whether he should buy a Norton 750 Commando : "Sure, but If you do, it will spoil you for every other bike you'll ever own"

It's a shame that Norton 961 didn't catch on that is a very sexy bike especially in that red/burgundy color .

They are in production. Today. There is a dealer about 20 miles from my house. I could buy one tomorrow.

I've looked at them every time I've been in the area. There are a few special models, like one with a polished aluminum tank. Simply gorgeous. The fit, finish, all of that on these new Nortons is spectacular. They are a bit different than the old Comandos, though - 270 degree cranks, unit construction, and other modernizations. Pretty much the same relationship the new Bonnevilles have to the originals. A bit bigger, a bit heavier, but about double the power and far better brakes. About $25k for the new Norton, though - ouch.
