Freezer alarms

Wireless or otherwise. My chest freezer finally arrived and I want to install an alarm. The freezer is in the basement so it needs to be loud or linked somehow. Amazon has many on offer. So any recos from you all? TIA

Brilliant concept. Bought a couple but quit working after a while i think. Can't remember brand. Last freezer that died on me was loaded with chicken necks on a trot line. Discovered it after noticing trail of blood from the freezer all the way through the garage to the driveway.

Yeah that's what I'd like to avoid.

Yeah, a visual alarm like that probably isn't as helpful and an audio alarm!

This is the one I have. CDN TA20 Audio Visual Refrigerator Freezer Alarm https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000I62FQI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_BHO0FbFBEJX9G?_encodin g=UTF8&psc=1 It’s only been 5 months so I don’t know yet how reliable it will be. I can hear it in the basement but in our house the freezer is directly below the kitchen.

Can't seem to find one without bad reviews.

You don't access it at least once a week? They all have exterior lights that show if they are working.

Yeah, I need to get one of those. A few weeks ago i was down in the basement where our freezer is and needed to plug in my shop vac. The only outlet nearby was the one with the freezer and overhead light plugged in. Since I needed the light i unplugged the freezer just for a "few minutes". Yup, I forgot to plug it back in. A couple of days later while I was down there, for some reason, i thought to myself, maybe you should check the freezer while your down here to make sure it's OK, (no exterior light on it) Open it up and it's still cold, but the top layer of food is now thawed. Looked at the plug and remembered what I had done. So we cooked what was thawed. Could have been much worse, our freezer is full of meat, fish, and veggies from the garden.

I believe it will do that until the freezer gets to the set temp.
