Small Dilemma

I have a bit of a first world problem...

2 weeks ago, we bought a new 50” 4K Smart TV for our living room. On Friday night, I won a 55” 4K TV as a door prize at a work Christmas party. I don’t really need 2 of these.

Option 1. Install this thing in our bedroom instead of the smaller flat screen in our room that isn’t SMART.

Option 2. Take the 50” back to Costco (can do this for first 30 days). Buy a Apple TV or similar for the 55”.

Option 3. Auction the 55” off at work for a few hundred buck with the proceeds going to the STEM club I started (and run) at my kids’ school.

What would you do. The $55” is worth $400.

Option 3.

Selfish thoughts then take the 50" back to Costco and get a fire stick for the "dumb" TV.

Not a fan of option 3 - seems kinda bush league, even if promoted as benefiting the STEM program.

Shop TV!

We have has a 48 inch "smart" flat screen mounted up near the ceiling in our bedroom and it is GREAT. Since we are getting old there are times when we have trouble getting up right away so this comes in handy. I also have a Vizio box with internet access hooked to it. I'd suggest the same for you.

Give it to the STEM program and let them auction it off.

I run the STEM program so that is option 3.

I think the advice is don't raffle it at work.

I agree.

There's always that one ******* that will turn it into an issue.

Raffle it off, but not at work.

donate it to a Boys & Girls Club

Sell one and by lift tickets? Have not been to Banff in years, love that place.

Option 2, then donate a couple hundred to Stem. Cleaner and easier.

Organize a fund raising for the STEM program asking the parents to donate something to be auctioned off and use the TV as the starter donation.

4) take to the desert with ammonium nitrate, and metal powder.

If you already accepted the win. Have both TVs show the same programming. Pick the one with the best picture and keep it. Do whatver you want with the other.

Have a smart TV for 5 years. After a couple of years the smart TV functions are no longer updated or supported by the manufacturer, %$!!@#'s. Now it is just a TV.
