Need iPod speaker dock recommendations

Someone on my list wants an iPod speaker dock thing. I know someone else who has a Bose version and it seems pretty nice, but it appears that they don't make them any more. I looked on Amazon but all I found were Chinese knockoff brands or used name brands. I have to be doing this wrong - these shouldn't be that hard to find, should they?

I bought a oontz Bluetooth speaker for cheap a year or so ago. Cambridge sound. Serves as my garage speaker. Not a dock but really works well.

Wow, did a google and there are some very pricey speaker docks out there.

You mean a classic iPod, with just the old 30-pin connector and a 3.5mm headphone jack?

What's the budget? There are plenty that are cheap (iHome comes to mind) and a few expensive ones (Yamaha, I believe, still makes some small systems with a docking station, or at least a USB input).

I would go blutooth at this point especially at the rate hardware is evolving. I have a mini jambox, they make a couple different sizes. I love the thing sits in my sons room at bed time and I can turn it off/down from my phone. Also travel with it and take camping. Battery has a very long life too.

Thom, you must be getting old! Docks are a thing of the past. BT all the way these days.

I've been using the Bose Mini Soundlink for hours a day, every day for over three years now. Find a NOS one if they're no longer being made. They are fantastic.

I'm still using a 25-pin RS232 connection to my punch card reader
