Nuts, that 9th should have been much higher for Evans.

Have to confess to being partly to blame for the making of the noise from 1.31 to 1.54 in the vid clip, eerrr sorry ;)

At 1.45 the sound of the car has a touch of the George Jetson's space car to it

A poor substitute for the epic days of Group B, Group C or F1 V10 noise but it is the future whether you like it or not

astrochex 11-03-2018 03:44 PM

They do seem to be noiser than the earlier generation Formula E cars.

The only thing I like about the lack of engine noise is that you can hear the tires working.

Captain Ahab Jr 11-03-2018 04:01 PM

noise is 75% of the show for me

this is one of my favourite motorsport pictures

words can't describe what it's like standing next to a track with thunder and awe ringing in your ears

those days are rapidly disappearing as technology marches on, really glad I was around to hear it for real but also glad to see the future develop

That is a touching image, thanks for sharing it.

I’m with you about thunder and awe. Absolutely nothing like it.

I hate to be a curmudgeon, especially since I don’t think I am that old lol, but, I could care less about these racers. For me, noise, shifting
Manually, and the driver mistakes that can cause a failure are what racing’s about. I raced off road RC cars for years, that is more exciting. Auto shift, no drivetrains to worry about, why bother?

...might as well do this:

Along with a couple of F1 cars I'm missing, sometimes I wish I'd had started buying both drivers cars as I dread to think how much I've spent

It will make quite an impressive display one day and I won't need to tax, insure and service them all so dusting costs will be minimal ;)
