Elissa said hold on.....

One week out of the hospital and the fever they were so worried about is gone. The Hospice nurse says she sees a lot of improvement in her strength and general health. My Doctor friends think the fever was some how induced in the Hospital and possibly by the cocktails they were giving her. Her palliative care Doctor is thinking the same thing and will come see her at the house this week. She still has plans for her life and wanted to eat out last night ....Pork chops and a double order of green beans and she even ate part of my steak.
Sharon and I see the improvement in the last 7 days.
This all being said she is on hospice care and they have been wonderful with all of us.
A few days ago Duke, John Hopkins and Houston all called and want to see her after January 1 when her insurance changes to Aetna. They all handle more critical care CF patients and the Houston said they would travel here to see her if necessary. We all feel this is is good news with all the bad news we have seen. We are still a long way off from celebrating but if any one can save Elissa Sharon can.

A lot have asked for an address and today is the first time in a week I have been on Pelican......Elissa Hase 5 Arthur Dr Edgecliff Village Texas 76134

Great news, but God what a roller coaster you have been on. You must have ulcers the size of New Jersey. Give Elissa a hug. What a girl.

Any good news is welcome, hope it continues. I've been watching this one for a while and must confess that I haven't been posting on your threads because I never know what to say. I like to fix things and help people fix things, when something comes along that I can't fix, (like a sick child), it leaves me feeling powerless and of no use. :(

Add my voice to her supporters in the BG, though. Hoping for the best for you and your family. :)

Is your daughter taking probiotics to build up gut bacteria ?

Wow nice news on Elissa!
The medicines can become a problem in themselves, good to hear that reducing them has been beneficial

Sounds like changing insurer may bring more treatment options, let's hope new input can help.

Thanks for the positive update.
Hope your Christmas is looking brighter.

Cheers Richard

Started choking back a lump in my throat and then gave up. What a great kid. When she's back on her feet she should do inspirational speeches. May all that you deem holy continue to bless her and hers.

Elissa is a badass. Keep on fighting!
