Update on Elissa
Last Sunday we took Elissa to the ER with an intestinal blockage....Still in there as I write this. She is being discharged tomorrow and will be at home. This is the best we have seen her in a long time. Now here is the KICKER.... she is not going to be on hospice care. The fever that got her on hospice care has been non existent for over 3 weeks. It was really good to hear the Doctors back track. This is good news as far as we can take it.

I will admit that I am hesitant to read your posts about Elissa. As a parent, I cannot imagine what you and your wife have gone through over the years.
That being said, Elissa rocks! That girl has a fighting spirit like no other. Love the good news! |
This is GREAT!!!!
I took a pic of my calender, for some reason there is an arrow through the end/next week into 2018. Consider this Elissa's arrow! She's got this! Home stretch. She can do it!!! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1513472702.JPG |
This is fantastic news!

I'm scared to read your posts and then happy when I do.

Fantastic! hugs!

My chest tighten up a bit when I saw your post. It got tighter as I read on, then I let out a breath of relief. She's a fighter. Great news.

Gary - Great news. I was very sad when I had read about hospice care. I deal with hospice in my part-time job and that is usually the start of a very short, sad ending.
Happy Holidays....... |
Thats really great Gary!

Christmas miracle. What an emotional roller coaster. You've got a fighter!
|
I too am nervous opening up your posts like the others but then relieved when it's good news . I feel sorry for any kid that will try and pick on her..........she will kick their a$$ ! :D Hoping for the good news to continue and that you have a Merry Christmas and that 2018 is the year for all her health issues to turn around .
|
Your update is a Christmas present for us all!
Is her recovery moving her closer to being back on the reciepreint list? There is a whole new year coming with lot of best wishes for Elissa! Cheers Richard |
Thanks for sharing the great news, Gary.

Thank you for the update. May the future be guided by Elissa's indomitable spirit.

I nearly lost my son when he was only 1 year old. This doesn't compare but a simple ear infection that was mis-treated became a raging infection that required hospitalization . His fever soared to 104 and needless to say we were terrified, especially since meningitis was a spectre lurking nearby. The doctors put him on IV Pen K, maybe G I don't remember but it was hundreds of milligrams. We stayed by his side night and day. The wife slept at the hospital since I had to work nights in order to keep my job. After 14 days he came home. Every day with my boy after that was like another birthday.
You just keep on having those new birthdays Elissa. When you're older maybe your Dad can tell you of the love you'd received from people that neither you nor he ever met. You've got a bunch of old men believing in miracles again. This is just one of the virtues you have blessed us with by sharing and we know it is just one part of the spirit of you. Thank you Elissa. |
Glad to hear! Hope is life.
|
Yay!!! Let's hope for more good news.

This is THE BEST NEWS EVER!!!!!
