Technically it's a covered lanai - not a Florida Room.

It's integrated with the enclosed pool.....for seamless transition from sipping a Martini to a dunk in the pool.

And not the ocean but the gulf. There is a difference!

Congrats on the new home. So I have 2-3 years to take you up on getting that beer and burger at the Pattenburg House before you NJ ---> FL.

Yes, Sir. Just googled.

I hear the term from other Ohioans that visit friends in Florida. Florida Room pics in general appear sealed from the elements.

Yep, no state income tax & RE taxes are 1/3 of what they are in NJ.

Well - it would be a screened in porch in Louisiana, where I am from!

Traditionally yes, but after I posted my comments, I re-considered what the 'new normal' term is here for a "Florida Room" as less and less older homes are available for that garage to be converted into an extra bedroom or Florida Room or that addition made to add a Florida Room.

So I guess we're both right.

But most would call it a "lanai"....

It's close enough to the Gulf, so it doesn't get oppressively hot during the summer, inland however is a different story. The summer temps aren't a whole lot different than we get in NJ. And since the Lanai is screens, it gets a decent breeze.

We go down to key west several times a year, but have never spent the night. Where do you stay?

We generally just fly down for lunch, stroll from Mallory Square to the southwest point. Then fly back late afternoon. But I keep planing on making fantasy fest, but haven’t made it yet.

And welcome neighbor, very nice home. You will also find that there is quite a difference between being here in season, and the summer months.

If you need anything, let me know.
