Wind River

I saw this a couple of nights ago and really liked it. A brutal story in the oppressive cold of an Indian Reservation in Wyoming, Jeremy Renner has gained my respect for conveying pain and suffering without words. And not just him, several of the characters are developed well, too. I don't want to say too much that would spoil it- I would just recommend it highly. A movie done differently and done well, IMO.

This is one of the best slow movies ever.

The topic is saddening tho.

The topic is certainly saddening but I thought the movie was brilliant!

My son gave it for me for Christmas.

Political but extremely good especially if you're into spoons. (but it's a Weinstein movie)
Jeremy Renner plays the roll of an extremely competent hunter. He reloads his own ammunition during the film.

Probably the best action/drama film I've seen in a long time.

Great movie.

I love the comments when the FBI gal showed up.

I saw it on a plane when I had nothing else to watch. I went into it with low expectations because I had never heard of it and assumed it was an old movie that hadn't been successful enough for me to hear about and was on a Delta's entertainment suite because it was cheap.

I ended up liking the movie very much. I was glad I knew nothing of the film and was able to enjoy it as it developed. I was surprised with each of the twists and turns. Good story, characters you cared about. It is a very good movie.

Spoiler....

The shoot out at the end was unexpected even though there was a clue as they got closer to the cabin.
What especially impressed me was the effectiveness of the pistols compared to the shot gun and full auto rifle.

The flashback story just before the shoot out was again unexpected. A simple thing like privacy eventually leads to the tragic death of two people.
And then later how many died during the shootout? (5 cops plus 6 or 7 security guards in total?)

"He died with a whimper".
