The idea is they are sending out a bunch of those and hoping if you are stupid enough to fall for it, you will be stupid enough to give them your information.

They only have to be slightly smarter than a few of the people that receive it.

If people didn't fall for this scam, there wouldn't crooks using it to scam them. It sounds stupid to most of us but it only takes one person to be preoccupied with a crying baby, grocery shopping or even driving when they get it to fall for it and the scammer comes out ahead.

I heard they sent a similar one to Podesta.

What exactly is this scam doing? Get you to pay a fake bill? Or get your apple ID / password? If it is the latter, what do people do with your apple ID / password? Look at your data on the "cloud"? I think that's how all the celebrity naked pictures came out. Amazing to me that you'd be a celebrity and take nude pics in the first place but then save them on the cloud!??
