QP 1 had me fist pumping the air! If those 1 lap times translate to race pace then good boogly doogly...

Luca Marini ran a great race. I have often given JL a lot of stick but man he rode a fantastic race today. And Dovi was unshakeable. The only disappointment was Vale falling further back in points.

Agreed on all points!

As for the M2 race, there was something quite beautiful about watching the two VR46 Sky Racing boys (Marini and Bagnaia) in sync with each other as they raced around this circuit.

Man, the points battle is a lost cause, I think. Short of aliens abducting you-know-who, I suspect the fight is for second place.

Indeed. For one thing the kid is great. For another whatever is happening at Yamaha blue seems to be beyond their ability to figure out. Vale can ride around most issues but that bike just seems to eat tires. Even Vinales and Zarco seem lost. At least Crutchlow saw the checkered flag!

I feel that Rossi is doing his absolute best and could really take it to MM for the championship, but the boyz in blue just can't give him (Rossi) the competitive edge. Look at how far down Vinales was at the start of Brno!!! Rossi qualified 2nd, Vinales qualified 12th, then get caught up in that first lap mayhem.

One last thing, if I'm not mistaken, Rossi was one of the only ones in the lead pack on a "medium" front tire...the others were all on "hard". I wonder if this was a decision that backfired a little?

Yes he was and I agree. Maybe he thought he could build up a gap and then manage it? But given those track temps it is a puzzling choice.

Who has the final choice of tires? Rider or crew? Or a joint choice.
When they said Rossi was not on a hard front, prior to start, I thought, "Uh oh".

Il Dottore has got to be tired of this poor performance. WTF is Yamaha thinking?
