Welders: can RMC be welded on to with steel?
Quick question about galvanized ( I think it is..) Rigid Metal Conduit (RMC)...
can I have steel welded on to it? probably wont be doing the welding myself but will cut the steel 'tabs'. It will be structural, in that the 10' pipe only has to support itself by the welded-on "bits".. It will also have wires running through it. Can you guess? it's a lamp!

Eat zinc, it's good for healing. But don't inhale it seriously. Put a fan next to the work.
Cut off an extra piece of stub and make some practice weld joins first. My Lincoln 135 110v MIG even sticks to junk porous pot metal (somewhat) with a bit of effort and a learning curve. |

Buttermilk is good for treating zinc inhalation.

I've done it. Hit it with a grinder. Outdoors, don't breathe.
smaller sizes are very thin, easy to burn through.
