Formula E
Marrakesh race was a good one.
Another strong showing from Jaguar. |
Didn't get to watch it as I was working on next years Season 5 car
There was a very late rule change on Fri. to abolish the minimum pit stop time followed by an even later u-turn on the rule. Shame as with Jaguar being at the naughty end of the pitlane they would have been given preference when doing pit stops so had the potential of jumping the other teams during the pitstop. Qualifying was incredibly tight, top 15 separated by less than 1 sec Interesting that after 3 races Jaguar is the top of the car manufacturing teams and only in 4th place. Has all the making for any team winning the championship this year. |
I happened to tune that race in channel surfing yesterday.
Sure is a quiet way to watch a race. |
Next seasons new car shape

^I speculated that advertisement space was the design metric. It looks like one of the goals is to allow car to car contact without tears.
I’ve never been a fan of fenders on open wheel cars. It sure is different. |
I have to be honest, that's a great looking car!
I used to work in F1 and CART (pre-IRL dispute), but haven't really followed anything since 2010 and don't really miss it. Really don't have time to sit and watch races, but the Formula E thing seems to make sense from a technology perspective. Of course, there are a few drawbacks, but they'll figure that out in time. Nice work Ahab! |
Thanks Aerkuld, we don't get to change the looks but do get to create new technology under the skin
It's not F1, nowhere near that level of detail but still interesting and challenging in its own unique ways Formula E does seem to have captured the imagination of the big auto manufacturers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TypQX-Jx0hI I do miss a good old fashioned fossil fuel powered car so tomorrow I'm going to remind myself of what a proper race car is by having a good look around a current Japanese Super GT works team car |
Another good race for Piquet. It could have been better if not for that optimistic pass.

Formula S.
(for SNORE). |
Never watched an E race. Going to have to give it a try. Treaded tires ??
|
Strong showing for both Jaguars in Mexico. Congrats!
A lot of broadcast time for the cars too. |
That halo looks like it would really impede vision
|
Everytime i accidentally switch to the channel airing FE, i'm confused for 5 minutes thinking i'm watching some kind of rerun of a yellow flagged F1 race with **** sound.
It's not watchable. |

Like watching paint dry. Or golf.

Audi won their first race this weekend after a few teething problems in the first races, can see them gaining momentum as they learn from their mistakes Jaguar now up to 3rd in the championship with its best weekend this season Not watched a race yet, I always seem to find better things to do on the weekends |

This years car is so last year, another lifetime ago for for me :D You are right there is no halo in FE now |
Haha, no worries. I didnt mean to poke with the Jaguar pic; it was the first FE pic I found that clearly linked to the Mexico City race.
