Restraining dog in Porsche

I have a new puppy in the last few months was trying to get ready for the summer Porsche driving season with her, Wondering how you guys are re-straining your dogs in the Porsche she’s going to be big don’t want her jumping out the roof of the Targa. Thanks.

I choose the free range option. Buzby likes to have his back feet in the back, and his two front feet on the front seats bolsters.

I’ve kept the windows up far enough that I felt they couldn’t squeeze out. The seat backs sort of kennel them to a certain point.

When we raised dogs for the seeing eye, they always wanted them on the floor of the car. It makes sense to me, I hit the brakes and the dog doesn't really go anywhere. So I still put my dogs on the floor. They sometimes sit on the floor and look around or they just curl up. I keep a toy for them if they are bored so they don't chew on the car.

I also used a dog hammock to bridge the area between the seats to make it harder to try and come into the driving area.

Have had to go through this with dogs and the sidecar. A few are just born to it. They sit calmly and lean into the corners. Another has to be trussed up like a bondage gimp to keep from jumping out and killing himself.

There are rigs that use a harness that connects to the factory seatbelts. It is illegal to have an unrestrained animal in the car in California.

We have a smaller dog, as in about 22 lbs. Not sure what size your dog is or will be.

We just got this to keep her in place and she loves it. It locks in place wiht the seatbelt and has a strap to keep her in the seat, we use a harness on her.
