How many H's?
Some people are really uncreative when they decorate. Count the "H" decor. This provided much laughter at my house. I'm funny that way.

I saw three “H”s and one “M” jump out at me. Doesn’t matter, really. The rest of the decor was pretty decent - a bit too overdone for me, but all in all it seems like a nice house and a comfortable way to live.

There are only so many ways to arrange shyte. With the design of the rooms there is usually only one or two ways to maximize space. So given those parameters?

Lots to like about that place. So H is their favorite letter, looks like brown is their favorite color.
|
I got 11 not counting the 4 or 5 contained in words.
It might be one of those things where she/he bought one and family/friends made a "Thing" of finding "H's" for Helen/Herman. |
Nice house.
The H's will be the initial of their last name. I'd be more concerned about having pictures of my kids with their names on the wall along with the address to my home. I would have taken those down. |
A million bucks for a house in OR ?
Is this some luxury resort, or some tech capital ? |

My wife used to watch a bunch of those sell your house, renovate your house, do you want to buy this house type shows. I do believe they missed the part about declutter and depersonalize. Quote:

I think we were around 11 as well. My daughters and I made a game of it. Even better two "bath" signs and a "shower" sign.
Masters of the obvious. To each their own. |
Nice place, but I'd be hung up on drainage. Just a thing with me I guess, but I'd never buy a home that was set below grade - esp. with all the water I assume falls there.

This thing is just over-decorated in my book. I am not an expert and don't really caer about interior decoration, but generally less is more. As far as pricing goes, Lake Oswego is one of the top hoods in Portland AFAIK.
+1 on the drainage / living into the hillside. My favorite setting for a suburban house is a flat lot with a small drop down into the street so you overlook the street but don't stare into a hill behind the house. G |

That house looks like it was professionally staged to me. |
I only counted 8 unique H's - didn't double count those that showed up in more than 1 view.
I did see some more in the 2 "bath"s and the "laugh" words. |
That's a 250K dollar house here in Michigan.

That's what I thought (initially), too. Until I saw the shots of the closets and bedrooms. Nice interior design and all, but amazingly, consistently homogenous. |
It's not just Lake O anymore by any means. I live in a modest, mostly working class neighborhood of homes built in between 1900 and 1950. Zillow has determined that lots and lots of them are valued at at least a million bucks. (Not mine, unfortunately - I'd take the money and run if that were the case!!)
Here's a foreclosure in a part of town that is not great by any stretch, a couple of miles from where I live... Portland home prices will cause heart palpitations... (Sorry about the hijack Larry! Couldn't help myself!)) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1517171389.jpg |
Some areas of Atlanta (Inside The Permimeter - or ITP as it is otherwise known) are already exceeding those prices - for what would be considered a starter home. My son and his girlfriend are looking and just about everything that comes on the market is a high $300's or more. Many get multiple offers and have contracts within days.

Looks like a nice home but I agree with the drainage concerns. At that price I expect it has been addressed. Also agree it's way over decorated...reminds me of my SIL house. Yikes!
You see that's the thing about home prices. Folks say it's so much cheaper to live in their hood (compared to SoCal prices). I have travelled for work and visited most states. I found the home prices are comparable if you are talking places you would want to live. Sure there are savings...if you want to sacrifice outdoor lifestyle. Depending on your priorities that is the big hinge point. |
