Mid to Late 70's Pano Ads & Classifieds

I recently came into possession of an almost complete set of mid 70's to early 80's Panorama magazines.

Getting a kick out of looking through them and seeing the ads and classifieds from back then.

So far I've gotten through '75-'78 and thought I'd share some of what I've found. Interesting to see the prices and think what if ...

Here are some of the more valuable cars in terms of todays dollars that were in the classifieds:

Say what, 1 of the 5 917 PA's ????

Those were the days, my friend. We thought they'd never end.

Ah, who would have thought.

Mind you if I could see into the future, I think I'd have held off for a few years and bought Apple shares instead. Maybe Apple share AND a 1973 911 RS

LOL

I've kept an original IBM PC, the first PC to come out. But darn I backed on the wrong horse. If I'd kept one of those silly Apple ones it would be worth a packet now.

What's sad is that many of those specialty automotive companies were here throughout socal. Now, they are all gone. I remember visiting some of them when I was old enough to ride in the back with the older boys who were gear heads who drove there in their clunkers. Just look at those addresses .

I was friends with a guy who bought a 1973 911 RS new from the factory (riding in that LW car gave me a yearning for a fast 911). He kept it in perfect original condition.

About 10 years ago he thought he was extra smart & had made a real killing when he sold it for $100K.
But the guy who bought it made the kill ! Perhaps it could sell now for $M1?

Wonder how many of these were made?

Anybody know if this still exists today?

I had a complete Pano collection from '66-2007. Yjhey were all stuffed on the package shelf of a 1972 911S before it was shipped off to Istanbul. I often wonder if Evren ever bothers to thumb through them.
