Los Angeles Memorial coliseum name change?

Home of the 1932 & 1984 summer Olympics, a historical monument.
I didn't think a corporation could tack their name on a monument?
Apparently if they write a big enough check they can.

Last time I went to that particular slum was in the early 80's.
they can call it anything they want as long as I don't have to go there.

Hey now I work across the street from that slum! :p

They are supposedly spending a lot of $$$ fixing it up (will be closed for two years), there are two huge cranes set up over there as we speak.

OK so I was exaggerating, it's not really all that dangerous ... during the day.

If it's any consolation I work in an area that's just as bad if not worse.

Rumor had it they would close for renovation however I did some digging on google and found this:

The project is to be built within a tight 18-month construction schedule. During football season, crews will work Monday through Friday and stop on the weekends for Trojans and Rams games. About one-third of the stadium will be closed to the public during construction
