The Forgotten Bugatti
 

Wow, I'd completely forgotten about this car. I remember the Jag XJ220, but the EB110 slipped my memory completely!

Never was a fan of the chunky styling. I understand the concept of function over form, but there are so many other supercars that (I thought) looked better than the EB110.

But I would still take one over the current way overweight cars they sell now. If I buy something over two tons it will not be a two seater car.

My first encounter was in a toy shop, it was a 1/18 model.

I was in disbelief that was a real car, and not some concept.

A famous F1 driver had a yellow one.

Reminds me of this thread where the guy put Bugatti EB110 wheels on his 911.

Saw one in the flesh back in the '90's when they were a current car. Nice car IMHO.

I always thought the EB110 looked dumpy and bloated.

The development mule/prototype looked much sharper IMO

EB110 is a forgettable car in general. Looks like one of those Japanese GTRs that's been hitting the local El Pollo Loco too often (fat in the sides, just generally bloated and disproportionate looking).

Like the color on the blue one though, but the overall styling is pretty uninspiring for Bugatti.

I never liked the looks of the jag either.

Pish pash no self respecting dapper European gentleman is going to be seen in a Bugatti. They are going to be driving Benz. The Bugatti is reserved for Euro trash, Japanese and the Americans. Who have no taste nor culture.

I'm more forgiving of the Bugatti because it had real power and performance.
Certainly not an inspiring design but not all that bad considering it was released in 1991.

For 1991 that was a cutting edge design. Look at the Diablo or similar cars from the era, same "chunky wedge" design. Neat car, I too had forgotten about that car. When I was a teen I had a Matchbox of that car...it's probably in a box in my basement somewhere.

It was definitely Bugatti-Bonkers in engine design too... From Wikipedia:

funny, that is one of the best looking ones to me.

213 mph from 550 hp seems like very good aerodynamics.

300+ mph!

Utterly ridiculous but I'd bet the record will stand for a while.

Not sure how the EB110 cam out of that vehicle? It looks more like an xj220 or Aston Martin Bull Dog.

I saw one in the flesh once and they do look much better in person IMHO. Such slippery looking cars!

I think they had a dragrace with some oldschool supercars on Top Gear, and the Jag sure was FAST!
