Even the name was terrible!

Edsel Ford was Henry's son and the car was named for him. There was nothing wrong with the Edsel it was built Ford tough. Nobody was ready for the front end styling.

I did chuckle at: "corners like a cannonball in a laundry chute" after footage showing it wallowing through corners...

One Edsel memory from high school was a guy showing with fake fur glued around the grille center section...

Used to read "Mail for McCahill every month... dad had a subscription to MI.

Remember him talking about a car that cornered like "water through a hose"...

He was fairly critical of the Edsel's handling in his column...

He raced at Daytona... his own cars.

My McCahill fav, "it corners like a rhinoceros on a wet mud bank." Pretty much described all 1950's American cars. Remember 50+ years later, made me laugh out loud in study hall.

I always preferred Smokey. He had a knack of diagnosing problems long distance. A real talent.
