Sheriff Shoupe

Tennessee - fatal shooting.

body cam recording what he (the Sheriff) is saying.

30-40 mph "high" speed chase of some old truck pulling a fully loaded trailer. at times, i suspect downhill, they got it all up to 50mph.

cops trying to pull him over for a suspended driver's license.

messy.

Norm K 02-08-2018 06:48 AM

Civil suit? How about a criminal one that results in life in the hoosegow for this asshole?

Interesting...I won't even look at the dog thread, yet I went to find the story and watch the video of the sheriff.

Self-reflection time.

Arizona_928 02-08-2018 09:06 AM

Of course civil suit.

Hopefully they get at least 750k lol

Baz 02-08-2018 09:08 AM

The truck driver should have pulled over.

The cops should have figured out a way to stop the vehicle without killing the driver.

Fault on both sides.

Like watching a battle between 'mental midgets'......

BAZ..it was a suspended license.

they could have followed him damn near forever. i cant come up with any scenario in which they needed to shoot him.

they could get him the next day..at 3:30 in the AM.

this is one of those (maybe) rare instances where they didnt have to shoot at a moments notice. they could have had a discussion to come up with other avenues.

Arizona_928 02-08-2018 09:27 AM

Police state bro
Don't question it, or you'll be the next on trail.

flatbutt 02-08-2018 09:40 AM

The sheriffs' comments sum it up in the most horrifying manner.

svandamme 02-08-2018 10:07 AM

That's an ordered execution.

So you want to make this a left-right thing?

Really?

Take it to PARF.

I think you should look in the mirror and say "ass- hole".

I agree, Cliff. That's what I said in my post.

Fault on both sides.

i think shifting patterns are interesting
our rightwingers were very in favor of police shooting people mostly
and hated and feared the BLM movement
but resent disputes with federal investigations have created a change

I favor law enforcement not shooting people
and think both the Sheriff and the shooter should be charged with murder

dafischer 02-09-2018 05:41 AM

I favor people using their brain before they post.

That sheriff is obviously an idiot. Not only for discharging his weapon in that situation but also for the way he did it. He exited his vehicle firing wildly at a moving target with other officers in his direct line of fire, If I was one of those other officers I think I would have kicked his ass when he stopped shooting.
That being said and as was already stated all of this could have been avoided if the driver would have stopped and complied. Driving with a suspended license is basically a joke and would have been a fine at the most.

Sheriff wasn't at the scene until it was over...
Sheriff ordered the dispatcher to say take him out, once they crossed into his county, and after the incident making wildly inappropriate comments on how he loves when people get killed in his county.

What a pile of crap!

I've never heard anybody, conservative or liberal, say police should kill people.

dafischer 02-09-2018 09:55 AM

Keep in mind that he's just a crotchety old fart.

Tobra 02-09-2018 11:58 AM

not-a-clue or the sheriff

dafischer 02-09-2018 12:02 PM

Take a guess, Toby.

flipper35 02-09-2018 12:56 PM

Maybe we can send the Sheriff over to the sandbox if that is what he thrives on.

Watch the video at 2:35 Was that the sheriff shooting or someone else? Then a police car drives right past him and then you see the pick up swerving in the grass. Whoever was shooting was an idiot.
