The direction of the grain in the room should be seemless from the hall. The orientation in the room will be almost unnoticeable once the floor is down. |
What I did just to add a little spice was to go perpendicular at the threshold:

Any tile store sells 3" x 12" mosaics mounted on mesh that you could put in the jamb area to break up the change in direction so that you can install the tiles lengthwise in both areas. I'd leave the 45 degree stuff for the pros.

I would place them with the top facing up.

This is the most popular thread on the forum! It's stayed at the top all day! :D

Each tile should be free to choose its own orientation, not questioned or ridiculed for its choice, and be free to change that choice at any time for any reason.
|
Yes, need to be direction neutral.
You need to mount each tile so it can spin freely and choose its own direction. |
Thread still at the top. Amazing!!

I wonder if something is wrong with this site....I haven't seen any movement all weekend.

He hasn’t paid his site hosting bill. :( |
FWIW- I orchestrated the website snafu, thus insuring MY thread would remain at the top and receive everyone's FULL attention!!!!!
