What it is like to be a police officer that pulls a car over for speeding, only to find it driven by Mario Andretti.

I think it'd be a bit surreal.

He's been pulled over a few times, but as far as I know never actually gotten a ticket.

A Texas tale I read years ago....

Cop chased down a new Cadillac rolling past the century mark...finally it pulled over.
Cop strolled to the passenger side, window came down to reveal the driver...LBJ.

Cop: "Oh my God!"

LBJ: "And don't you forget it, son."

Window back up. Caddy rolled on.

(edit) I also heard of Dan Gurney being pulled over for speeding. Wiseass cop, not recognizing him asked to see his race license. Gurney showed him a race license...

They way I heard it, LBJ had a beer in his hand. And when officer asked if he'd been drinking, LBJ said: "Son, ain't nothing wrong with a little Pearl!"
