Any ww2 flag buffs?
 

Been in the family for a while. Gramps did ww2/korea/vietnam. Flag has blood, and gray paint spots, and looks like it's been peppered by something big (has hand size holes). Anyone want to take a stab at it?

Yeppppp! that's it.
rather big one. aprox 10ft x 16ft.

300 x 500 was ships over 1500 tons and under 10000 tons, which included destroyers & cruisers.
The bigger ships had even bigger flags .Graf Spea was 400x670 and Bismarck 450x750...

They only had about 45 destroyers and even less cruisers below 10K.
So with some more background of where your Grandad spent his war, you might narrow it down a bit more.

He spent the war as a pow in the Philippines/Manchuria.
so this is the completely random item from a bunch Japanese stuff.
