Is you car too quiet?
This must be the new Mustang "active exhaust". Frankly, think I'd find it problematic over a long run. Fun if near a fart can 4 banger tho...

For a daily driver, I want my car to be as quiet as possible. I just need something that gets me from point A to point B as effortlessly and comfortably as possible. Too much exhaust noise would grate on me after a while.
For a fun car, or a track car, a real engine sound is essential. The piped in fake soundtrack stuff is bogus.

No, I wasn't suggesting the Mustang was piped in like some BMWs. I just meant I don't like that approach. The Mustang's approach actually sounds interesting to me if it gives the option to be as quiet as you want on a daily basis but to dial it up a bit when you're having fun. If it works it seems like a nice feature.

Our Chevy Bolt is really quiet. The Porsches? Not so much.

A couple people here at work have electric cars... I have almost been hit by them a few times because hey are so darn quiet!

My loaner is a Durango R/T, the sound of the V8 5.7 Hemi is great.
The 0-60 in 6.2 Sec is also impressive.

More info from a Ford Guy:
"The active exhaust defaults to Normal on startup unless it's during the scheduled "Quiet Mode" times. So I'm pretty sure what we're hearing is normal mode, meaning if you want it quieter you can do Quiet mode and if you want it louder, there's Sport+ and Track mode. I also think the uploader of the video likely cranked up the gain during editing to better hear the sound. I'm not sure if the volume levels we're hearing are accurate. I'll also add that the Mustang chief engineer has been saying the active exhaust on the Bullitt is the same design as the standard 2018 Mustang with the active exhaust option. They only changed the appearance with the NitroPlate black exhaust tips and said the sound changes mostly because of the open air filter and GT350 intake manifold. So I'm pretty sure the exhaust itself shouldn't be any louder than a regular Mustang with that exhaust, us Bullitt owners will just get a slightly different tone from the exhaust and more induction noise up front."

I have the Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE) on my car. It's active, and it's fantastic. I can be quiet when I want to be and loud when I want to be. It sounds great in loud mode, but I don't always want to be loud.

Electrics are so quiet they are mandated to have a noisemaker on them that opperates at low speed. The one on my Volt sounds like an alien spaceship from a ‘50s sci-fi movie
