Being Dyspeptic

I am an irascible old man who is grumpy and grouchy. The older I get the more I come to realize what ignorant fools people are, and I don't have the time left to suffer fools. So I let them know in no uncertain terms what ignorant dunces that they are. I love nothing better than let a quaff when walking down an aisle at the store to let the next patron know that I have been there. Not only does it make me feel better it keeps me from getting sick or something?

When some youngster with pimples asks me, "What did you do during the war you old fk," I reply I shoveled shyte in Louisana, and now can shovel shyte with the best of em in DC. That usually shuts the little illerate bas+ards up.

How long have you got?

I don't have the time to be grumpy and grouchy.

Based on this and many of your other posts, I truly feel sad for you. When did it start to go so wrong?

I’m 45 and have a life filled with more fun, love, fulfillment and, yes, some struggle and hardship. However, overall I am whole, excited and more optimistic than ever before.

You make me recall Dr Styza, my freshman english professor, who unceremoniously dumped all the class's term compositions into a trash can. He then sang a little ditty on the piano describing how hopelessly dumb and illiterate all freshman are and asking why he even showed up for such dunces. I will never forget that moment, when I realized just how little I really knew about anything. He looked something like this-

I think you get out of life what you put into it. At age 71 I don't have to work. I walk the straight and narrow and life is good. I walk an hour a day and keep my weight down.

I recently went to my daughter's baby shower(baby expected end of March) and there were around 40 guests and mostly they were Phd students or Phder girlfriends of my daughter. Delightful girls and most of them are in medical research.

If you spend quality time raising your children you will be rewarded by having good people around you. Life is for living. You reap what you sow.....:)

Hell I feel like I am a cradle napper when the young 20 year olds are being flirtatious. Maybe it aint me but those draggin azz jeans that I wear?. The one thing that they all do say is that I always have something interesting to say every time they see me.

Why it was just the other day that 3 cases of M&M ice cream sandwiches fell off the back of a truck and i.stopped to pick em up. Now I can't eat no 3 cases of ice cream sandwiches so I called a couple of friends to give em some. But they was unavailable, and since I was headed on over to my local glory hole Thrift I decided to give em to the crew at the store. So every body got ice cream sandwiches on me. Now it weren't nothin on me except the thought. Karma does have a way of paying you back because the next time over there I was able to snag a Teac R2000 reel to reel tape recorder for $14. On the Bay they go for 1200 to about 2300.

If you don't have good genes you obviously can rock it with your draggin azz jeans. Good for you tabs but 20 year olds are a trifle young....

A trifle young....why do you think I am grumpy and grouchy?

fintstone 02-23-2018 07:46 AM

Tabs...you just remind them of their eccentric grandpa.

You need to be trying to meet one of their divorced/widowed mothers. They would still be a lot young and hot compare to you...and maybe you can find one with money.

my next door neighbor up and died on me.

we managed a fence build together. he ate all my random food cookings. we became the oddest friends. and he was a crochety effer.! the cashier at the lumber yard asked, "and just how do you two know each other". he said i was his chinese driver.

he got back pain, went to the doc and died four weeks later. he told me within that four week period, to try not to grow old bitter. i think i said something stupid like, "i'm gonna be like you when i'm your age"

he said to learn to let things go. you wont give an eff at the end.

i think he knew he was dying. i didnt see it.

You come across as negative particularly on the economic side. That is your choice of course. 20 year old girls' brains have not gelled yet. Some peoples' brains never gell. Proceed with caution. :)

ibid.

i have a friend that says the exact same stuff. i know him. he puts up this front, just to avoid having people hate him. it's like if he acts like a dick, thinking people are insufferable fools, then when people hate his ass, it is on his terms. not theirs.

it hurts when you're nice and folks think your a dick, or you dont have friends. so it's just easier strike preemptively. sour grapes proactively.

You mean crazy ole grandpa..

Once in a Thrift. I found a pair of Ralph Lauren slacks that had a skid mark in them. I took them to the register and loudly asked if I could have a discount on them because of the skid mark? They obliged.

I did that on purpose, as I told a fellow Thrifter that I know, "you think I am being obnoxious now just wait till I get to the register." That was done to annoy that Thrifter. It worked.

You think? I am analytic at a professional level. So when you add up the facts you come up with a negative outcome. That is reality and that is what I deal with at least. If you do not come up with a negative outcome then you are in denial and are dealing in la la land.

There is no magic, no fortuitous falling of the dice that is going to make it ok.

Eerily Porter Stansbury is touting the same line of thinking that I am nearly verbatim. (I stumbled upon him the other day while looking at pwd's ufo thread). What he is saying is that all the civil unrest and consternation is due to the stress that debt is causing. He feels that a consumer debt Jubilie is on the horizon.one where debt is forgiven and written off the books. That is north of 10T USD. Every investor is going to get waxed on that one. He claims it will be life altering. Where have you heard that before.

Either Stansbury is familiar with what I say and it has influenced him or it is a case of parallel thinking. Either way it gives my thinking validity.Being able to connect civil and political consternation to economic stress is a nuanced thought process. Much like being able to see a bank or angle shot on a pool table.

Better to "quaff" than "queef", I always say...especially when you're a guy:DSmileWavy

Oh, and I learned a new word: Dyspeptic.
