Indeed.com great for jobs

Posted on CL 2 weeks ago for an admin. assistant. 4 respondents, all low quality. Posted same ad on indeed.com on Monday, have over 50 responses and 4 interviews on Monday with people that are a little over-qualified. Will never use CL again for anything other than finding Skilsaws and such.

CL has a bad reputation for anything but cheap used items sold in sketchy circumstances. You will "Indeed" get what you pay for, and let's just say, CL is cheap !

Shaun, I hope this is a sign that business is going well!

Thanks Matt, yeah, I'm booked into June right now. Finally figured out how to monetize being a 99.9% person. Wish I could hire a production assistant, been through a few of those.

That's awesome. You seem to have found a great niche where perfection and attention to detail is sought after. In our Walmart world that's not an easy thing to do.

Up here same thing. We get our best applicants for techs and service coordinators through indeed.

I'm pretty sure I found my current job on indeed.

I am thinking of posting for a production assistant now. That said, every local high end Porsche restoration shop (customers) I talk with says finding qualified help is impossible.

Have you tried going to the local tech school and talking to the instructors? You might be able to create an internship or hire students or recent graduates. We had good luck recently finding an accountant through the local community college and the instructor who works with students on career options.

I wonder how long until Indeed is overrun by "make money at home" and other scams.

berettafan 03-05-2018 04:53 AM

I posted on indeed and got all manner of resumes.

and a bit of sticker shock at how much pay unqualified people are willing to ask for.

had an intern from my alma mater last spring. convinced me that young people are why everything costs so damn much these days. they don't work very hard, demand high pay and fail to realize just how little they really know right outta school.

but I digress....Indeed is for sure (ha!) your best bet.

Out of 4 interviews today, one person really shined bright. Hour and a half long interview, it looks like she can do all the admin and do some production prep too. A real car, errr, girl.

Lots of boxes checked but when she started to poke fun at millenials, which she is one, for the traits we gen x'ers know and love about millenials, I knew she was right for the job.

Those scams have always been there. You just have to know how to set up your search and the keywords for your daily email alerts. Once you have that straight, you'll see nothing but what your filters allow.
