Gunman takes hostages at veterans home in Yountville, CA

What a scumbag. Something tells me this guy has a real good chance of suiciding by cop.

I was really hoping that this story was going to be about the veterans kicking his ass.

I was glued to this story all day.
few miles from home.

I've been to the Vet's Home many, many time over the past 28 years.

Really tragic.

10 round magazines and a list of banned firearms but most firearms are legally available.

A better question is "this is a lock down facility, no one allowed in or out without permission"

So how does a guy with a rife walk into the facility?

Not the right thread for this PARFy comment. And I've just deleted my snarky answer...

Virtually zero security. No guns. No gates. Nothing.
Drive anywhere. Walk into buildings as you wish.

It's like a large college campus/hospital/nursing home.

Many public interests surround it:

Baseball field, golf course, theater, museum etc.
Wine Train rolls right past the front entrance.

I have no idea what they'll do.
