You Folks on the East Coast OK?

Watching the news and the storm that has been battering the east coast.
My Father in law in Acton Ma is without power right now but will probably be ok with the fireplace running.
Hope you are all weathering the storm in good health!

Ok here. Some trees down, spot outages. Large branch just missed my wife's car.

I’m not even on the coast (west central PA) and my neighbor’s tree took out our chain link fence.

We had about a foot of snow over the last day but just snow. Not blizzard conditions.

Just finished shoveling the front and had a Bailey's and coffee to warm up.

Going out for round 2. The back patio!

That's a lot of firewood, Dave!
Glad it was just the fence!

Friends of mine lost power so they decided to bug out to a hotel and the only place to eat was Red Lobster.

Pretty harrowing experience.

I had to detour on my way home last night due to a stuck tractor trailer, on a road where he had no business in the first place.

Halfway through the detour I came upon a tree across the road. Used a chain to pull it mostly out of the road.

It took about an extra hour to get home. We only got about 6" but it was very slick and the drifts were deep.

About ten last night my son got a call from son friends that were stuck. He took his truck (my old truck) to rescue them. He got about 1/4 mile and stuffed the truck in a drift. He dug it out, backed into the field and turned around then came home.

The pile of snow in the front of the photo is where he dug out.

The township plow is stuck this morning in the background. They are out there now with a big Case loader digging out.

16 inches of wet snow greeted me Friday morning. An hour on the tractor and I could escape the driveway and go to work. Today, I raked the rotten white stuff off of the house, barn, shed, and chicken house roofs. I am tired.

Last week at my house north of Seattle in Marysville, top of a hill. All gone now. Even the humming birds were puffed up and sluggish, like this guy.

Got about 2’ here in central N.Y. Spent the better part of today clearing out a 200+foot gravel driveway with my snowblower. Gravel stones flying everywhere! Fun cleanup in the spring.

We only got about 16" of heavy wet snow and lost power for 14 hours. Now I hope it all melts so I can get out the summer cars for good. Last week we had two days in the 60º's.

Really windy. Fortunately we only lost 4 fence sections with a couple of snapped posts. No loss of power miraculously as none of the lines are burried and we have a lot of old growth trees.

We got hit with a pretty intense wind storm on Friday, with reported gusts of 50+ mph. They closed the bridges over the Susquehanna, which effectively paralyzed 95 in Harford county. Emergency road crews were sent out to refuel vehicles that were stuck in gridlock for 6+ hours that night. Some parts of the area are only getting electricity back today.

Thankfully no snow, at least.

I came across this on my way to the supermarket.

In the 1.5 miles it takes to get to the grocery store my path was completely blocked 3x by Trees of similar size to the one above. And I saw 3 homes severely damaged.

I got lucky and didn’t lose power or anything, but many friends are still without juice and schools were canceled.
