Put in a Dry Creek Bed This Week
Rented mini excavator and end-loader and 5 tons of Tennessee River Gravel and Ta-Dah! A 75 foot dry creek bed between the neighbor's and mine recently installed engineered retaining walls. Put some water down it to check the flow path and it looks good.
Sorry about the sideways photos ![]() ![]() |

Looks good....because of drainage issues...or another obstacle to keep your neighbors at bay?

A neighbor put in a rain garden for her downspout deposits but I am not that talented.
Willow trees look good and like the wet. Not sure about shedding of organic material though. Eventually that area might get clogged up. |

good work
I've rented a dingo and want one too, so flexible. Thing is, the bucket is so small compared to a skidsteer. If you need to fit through a gate a dingo or variant great, else get a bigger hammer. I need to do some similar work but its near a bunch of evergreens. Needles clog up everything here, not sure how to work around that with stone. You can blow out larger debris once in a while but needles... I hate needles! ![]() |

A little update here. The neighbor decided to use the same rock to build a small dry creek that ties in to the main one. I added a drainage speed channel at the end of the driveway to help move water to the bed.
