... is actually pretty decent if you use a good recipe for it. Not at all like the crap you find in the endless Chinese buffets that litter America.

I don't know if I've had corned beef since I was a kid, I can't say I've ever had a craving for it.

Try Fuchsia Dunlop's version of it, maybe reducing the vinegar just a tad.

I'll put in the cabbage in about 7 hours....cook it for another hour and then shut her down.

I'll be up late anyway watching basketball....

I got a corned beef last year and smoked it. Made pastrami. It was tasty.

I see St Paddy's day as an American tradition created by marketing people to sell products.
Same with sink-o-day-mayo.

Kind of funny that a guy that evangelized Ireland is now an excuse to get sheet faced drunk:

Patrick arrived in Slane, Ireland on March 25, 433. There are several legends about what happened next, with the most prominent claiming he met the chieftan of one of the druid tribes, who tried to kill him. After an intervention from God, Patrick was able to convert the chieftain and preach the Gospel throughout Ireland. There, he converted many people -eventually thousands - and he began building churches across the country.

He often used shamrocks to explain the Holy Trinity and entire kingdoms were eventually converted to Christianity after hearing Patrick's message.

Patrick preached and converted all of Ireland for 40 years

And most of us gringos think Cinco De Mayo is Mexican independence day.

I watched the episode last night on shrimp and crawfish. DC was eating and burning up his mouth and she was just eating that stuff like it was no big deal. Saw a documentary on Netflix a year ago that was all About the dish.

Edit: It was this one.... http://www.thesearchforgeneraltso.com/

Nope. New York City. Created by an ex-pat Taiwanese chef.

I have experienced St Patrick’s Day as a celebration of drunk people buying me green beer. Damn good holiday and a great time to do something to show your appreciation for the snake haters of the world.

I ate a corned beef and cabbage for dinner. Made a couple cb sandwiches on Great Buns rye bread. The bread with butter is to die for.

Happy St. Patricks Day to ye all from Cork in Ireland.

May the wind be always at your back, and may you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead.

Happy St. Pats day.

I'm loving a Guinness, but the corn beef & cabbage dish is not widely celebrated here at all to my knowledge, which seems strange as we embrace the day with great fervour otherwise. What's that all about?
