It's the first time I've missed it in a number of years. Normally, I drive down to see my folks in Sarasota (where I grew up) and my dad and I drive over for the race. This year, my folks came up to NC to see me and the grand kids. Oh well. Next year...

Hey Jeff,

I partly grew up in Sarasota too from '76-84.

Small world! I graduated from Sarasota High in 1987. Graduated from USF. Got married then moved to NC in '95. But Sebring was always the race for my dad and I. He's been going since the '60s.

I am making plans to go down there next year. The only reserved camping spots are up at the fence. The rest of the infield is open. People get there early in the week and the gates open on Wednesday morning and it's a mad dash to get the best spots.

Let's make plans to meet and camp together.

I went to Riverview before moving back to Colorado in '84. I also graduated HS in '87.

Lots of great memories back then. Like, driving in my friends vintage mustang, windows down, playing Ratt or Boston way too loud on our way to Sarasota Square mall to see Terminator 2 or 3 weekends in a row was like yesterday.

Yep, that'd be the life. Only I was driving clapped out beetles, buses, and ghias! LOL!

Hardly missed this guy most Saturday afternoons.

That's funny, I have to start my man cave and I'm putting the finishing touches on my camping trailer. I was hoping you still had your truck camper.

Good summary above.. The interesting point about Sebring is how little of the track you can view easily if you're not on top of an RV or on one of the few berms... I *LOVE* Sebring but honestly I prefer watching from the TV because it's really hard to get a good vantage point compared to other tracks with elevation... I think they are wasting good opportunities of installing tons of grandstands there... The counterpoint of that must be Sears point, it's a bowl and you can see 90% of the track from almost everywhere...

The coolest part for me is having done so many DEs at Sebring, it's awesome to watch the in-car video and realize how fast those guys/cars truly are ;-) The bad part is having to watch 3/4 on a tablet because I don't have FS2...But I did !

5 between my mother's broken wrist and have a fire at the house there's just no way I can make it to the Sebring this year really killed me to miss it to it
