Replacing Struts
It's on my 1996 Subaru Outback.
When replacing struts, how picky are you about the way the rubber boot fits around the body? We know it's there to protect from debris accelerating wear and tear on the strut seals, but for predominately normal road use with a few light off-road jaunts per year, is it really that important?

I would pay attention to it. keeps moisture from corroding the shaft as well. Not like it's a problem in AZ but if you're gonna do it do it right.

My thoughts as well. I'll probably add some RTV then zip tie it in place.
Thanks!
