Wim Hof, cold therapy, cold showers, ice baths, etc...
Has anyone heard of Wim Hof "The Iceman?" Anyone do any of his "stuff". His stuff mostly seems to consist of a breathing technique adapted from Tibetan Buddhists and cold exposure (not necessarily at the same time, but they usually go together). The interesting thing is that he has been studied by scientists, and his stuff is not BS. Not only that, but it's not just him. After they studied him, he said that he could teach others to do the same, so he did and they saw similar results with the folks he trained (for just a week or two).

I don't know about the cold component, but I practice Tonglen breathing as part of meditation, and find it very beneficial.

Quote:
You take 30-40 big breaths in and out (in a relaxed fashion, not forcing or straining to breath in or out). Then on the final exhale, you exhale and then hold that empty breath as long as you can, then you inhale and hold that for 10-15 seconds. Then you start over and you repeat the cycle 3-4 times.

I don't like being wet and I don't like being cold.
When I was staying in Denmark the Danes would run naked into the sea every morning. I had to do it to of course, to prove I wasn't a soft American. It was April and we had to crunch through the shore ice to get to deeper water. I took one for the honor of my country and acquitted myself quite well.
