Wolf brand chili
Anyone as disgusted with this chili as I am at the moment? Thinned out, using pork in addition to beef. I generally make my own, but it's cold (chilly) and I was in a hurry. VERY disappointed

Brother was a food broker for a while. Had to make sure all the Wolf brand chili can were on the shelf WITHOUT the wolf show. Said people thought it was dog food. This was in the early 70's too.

I won a chili contest at work by making real chili.
Pork shoulder, tomatillos, anaheim peppers, spices etc. If it ain't green, it ain't chili.

You guys all must be shopping at those boutique stores like dollar general. Let me just say in the canned chili arena you haven't hit rock bottom until you've had dinty moore.

I've had it and Hormel and some others and the bottom line is if you have the time you can't go wrong making your own.
I've been making turkey chili for the past couple years and it's unreal good. BTW....something I heard once from a retired Army Colonel I worked with: "There's no such thing as bad chili....some's just better than others." ![]()

Not traditional chili, but it's high quality. I purchase 1 or 2 cases of this before each snowboarding season, for a quick & easy thermos meal:

Can any of you chili connoisseurs recommend some BBQ in a can? I've never had either....doesn't exist imo.

Eating canned chili in other than a survival situation is pure barbaric. For petes sake, it takes less than 30 min to start an awesome batch of chili. Stores well in the freezer. No excuse.

The only chili I use from a can, is the chili sauce that I put on an occasional casing frank (snap hot dog).
