Bryant's was pretty good the last time I was there. Next time I will try Joe's. Cheers.

Now in Salina, KS. Left KC at 9 AM so didn’t get lunch there. Headed to Goodland,KS tomorrow to another KOA. Headed towards Denver for a day or two, the KOAs are full but Cabella’s will let us park overnight in their parking lot. They’d just like to have you come in and buy something in the morning. Too bad I don't have A CO drivers license, I could go crazy. then eventually Archs National monument in UT. SmileWavy

Enjoy one of the most boring drives on earth. Salina to Denver is flat desolate nothingness, I’ve made that drive more times than I can count.

It's hideously, mind-numbingly boring. But, do check the weather forecast before you leave. It can get a bit windy out there, which is going to be no fun in a big ass RV.

That's the way that I had crossed that part of the country in the past, or the most southern route. Both offer those long boring stretches .
The last trip west to east I angled north thru central tx into Oaklahoma, trying to avoid south tx right after hurricane Harvy. And found the country much more varied and interesting.

Cheers Richard

Had an accident

I was sitting at a truck wash in line this morning in Salina, KS and went to the back to get some water out of the fridge. I felt a smack and the Tyson Chicken semi in front of me rolled back and hit me. It was only about 1-2 mph and a few feet of rolling. BUT the damage!! It cracked my windshield in six places, and cosmetically effed up the front fiberglass in a lot of places.

Drove it to an RV glass place in Hays, KS and they think I’m OK to drive it back to LA, it cracked the outer glass, not the inner glass. Called my insurance company and they will cover it, no deductible to me and will go after Tyson Foods for the costs.

Between the glass and fiberglass, I’m guessing $10K. Sucks big time but I had a few stone chips on the glass and fiberglass anyway. Amazing what a 1-2 mph impact can do to an RV, makes you think...

If your going to get hit by a semi- low speed is the best way to do it!

Good luck on the repairs, enjoying following your journey, stay safe.

You must be right on the equator, Hugh. All the photos are 90 deg. off.

Hugh R 06-06-2018 07:01 PM

Really looks ok to me let me check another site like chrome.

Hugh R 06-06-2018 07:03 PM

Chrome looks good on it now.

Recreational MJ Dispensary, I took a tour,$100/oz for really strong smelling stuff. I haven’t partaken for over 45 years and see no reason to start up. No photos allowed inside.

1/2 way between Moab and Beaver, UT.

My RV has developed a distinct thud noise when deploying the automatic levelers. I’ve layed under it while the wife deploys the levelers, nothing loose, nothing bent as far as I can see. I dry lubed the hydraulic leveler rods, just to see if that is the problem, the Mfgr, Recommends wiping them with Wd-40 or something similar once a year. I did them just before I left Los Angeles, and did them tonight, we’ll see tomorrow. These things.

One thing I fear I with these automatic levelers and the electric slide outs is that they will one day leave me stranded for days.

High, both should have a manual override if I’m not mistaken...

My inlaws had thier power awning refuse to cooperate, and on a separate occasion blew the fuse on the slideout while in a roadside rest stop (badly designed new camper doesn't allow access to fridge, or bathroom with slideout pulled in/retracted).

Yeah, they do, but the dinette manual override involves cutting the carpet and pulling up a floor panel. That will be one consideration if/when I buy another one.

Baz 06-12-2018 07:28 AM

Here's your manual override!
