That all changes in October. Finally real beer sales in grocery stores. Well up to 8.9% in grocery stores. The liquor stores sell good beer, but they can't sell cold beer until October.

If you are coming back through OKC send me a PM. We have Cattleman's restaurant that sells great steaks. My wife and I would love to meet up with you and your wife.

If you ever get to Indy, let me know. Have a safe trip.

I've been to that OKC Memorial, it's very moving. Not sure what direction are going from there but my favorite thing on that road trip was Memphis. Best food in America and really interesting place. Elvis's Graceland plus The National Civil Rights Museum which is built around the motel and rooming house where MLK was assassinated. It's amazingly well done and another moving experience dealing w not too distant American history.

Safe travels.

At least there is beer. I was at an auction in a little town north of Amarillo and asked the manager at the motel where I was staying where to get a beer. He told me I would have to go to Oklahoma to get beer, 'cause I was in a dry county. Good thing Oklahoma was only a few miles away.

Good lord buddy Life's too short to manually align your dish. How in the world do you watch while you're driving?

If you can't get it done in OK or TX you'll have a hell of a time when you get further north. Get the fancy one!

I keep looking back at your pic of those giant sculptures Hugh, what is the story of those things? They seem well done.

Has the wind eased off yet?

I see in the news that four big fires are still burning, bummer
Big summer fires reshaped a trip for me. Leading me to miss Montana and Wyoming that were blanked with smoke. Ended up going to chech out the big car week in Monterey instead. Love the feeling of spontainous travels.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

Cheers Richard

The OKC memorial is very very good. Hard to have dry eyes at that one.

Don’t come too far North Hugh, blizzard warnings in central KS today. We will only get a dusting at most here in Wichita, but it’s 32 and windy as hell. Good weekend to stay parked and check out OKC.

Good morning Hugh and companions......

Just read the entire thread. GREAT stuff!

If you ever get down here (just south of Daytona Beach) - you're more than welcome to stop by.

I have a right-of-way out front you can park in and the beach is just 2 blocks over!

We have some excellent restaurants here as well.

Thanks for the entertainment - stay safe!

I can second Memphis. I was stationed at BUPERS in Millington, TN just outside of Memphis for 14 months...flew back and forth on weekends.

The Lorraine Hotel and NCRM is a must.

There is also a really neat downtown baseball stadium where the Memphis Redbirds play.

The Mud Island monorail is cool as well.

The Peabody is a great place to have a cocktail and then walk downtown.

Perfect time of year.

Due to the fires and high winds we’re not going South as Seahawk suggested, we’re headin to Tulsa.

The bronzes are very high quality, and commemorate the Oklahoma land rush of 1895, IIRC.

It certainly is. Glad you made the visit.

Keep the updates coming! Will you be taking I-40 through Knoxville then I-81 north? If so, you'll go through Bristol, my hometown.

Twin Bridges State Park,OK

Staying here for the night, 45 degrees, nice view of a river. Bought the automatic antenna, it found a satellite in one minute. $704 but I don’t really care, in fact, I’m ecstatic, I can plug it in and do the rest of my setup and I’m done in five minutes.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1523754315.jpg

Headed to somewhere near St. Louis tomorrow. The cross winds have been challenging.

As Gogar pointed out, if I mount it on the roof, I can watch TV while I drive. Sweet!
