garden tractor wheel and suit case weights $$$

It would appear just like the Porsche tax there is a John Deere tax :( Trying to find either rear wheel weights for my 318 or some suit case weights . These things are stupid expensive for hunks of steel . I did find this company see link below , the price is much cheaper than HD or Lowes but shipping is pricey . I referenced HD/Lowes only because they offer the same weight but with free shipping to a store where you can then pick up . Their pricing right now is about $68.00 per plus tax .

The company listed below if their online estimator is accurate they are $60.00 delivered to my door with no tax . Anyone on here have any wheel weights or suit case weights they want to get rid of ? Yeah I know there are home grown solutions but right now I don't have the spare time to make anything .

An easy solution. On the rear hitch, attach a threaded carriage bolt (maybe 6-8" long)
Stack barbell weights on it. I always did this with my 317..worked great.
Paint the weights JD color to match.

Also..are your rear tires loaded? Makes a big difference with traction.

stevej37 this 318 I just purchased my 330 does have loaded tires . I'm going to put new rear tires on the 318 so will hold off on loading them until then . Great suggestion though .

Get bar tread tires that have the tractor lugs, and fill them with as many gallons of pink RV antifreeze solution (each gallon being about 8#). This works well because it doesn't rust out the wheels like the brine solution of the old days did to farm tractor tires.

I have a couple sets of the old JD wheel weights that will never let go. I loaned a set to my FIL years ago, but saw them sitting in his garage sale with a $20 price tag last fall.......I re-possessed them instantly without paying !
