Ugh. Vines.
My upper body is toasted. Got in two days of hard mtn biking and still had the energy to beat back some Vines. I made a quick trip to the hardware store. Even the crappy corded hedgers felt “not worth the $”. A black and decker was $70.
The lawn guy down the street must be making good money; he didn’t even want to come and take a look. Screw it. Dug out “old school”. Haha. I could not even hold a beer yesterday. :) Me versus Potato vines: winner? To close to call. |

So the new bamboo.
I bet a genetic hybrid potato-bamboo vine would look good in your back yard. ;) |

I have them bad in my yard, up 75ft trees.
I cut them at the bottom then tie them to truck and start pulling. |

You can also put a blade on your trimmer that will cut through those pretty easily.

I use a machete for such things... I can't help you on digging up the roots.
Salt or a good herbicide might work but could be problematic if you want to grow something it the same place further down the road. I'm a little sore myself, had carpet installed in the living room by my neighbor and I was his 'helper' (helped pull up the old stuff, vacuum, staple down the new padding, and shag tools) he did 80% of the work but I'm still sore. |
