Tool box karma

Was getting a soda just now at a convienence store on a busy intersection.

Work truck basically runs and red, turns left at high speed, almost causes an accident and tears on down the road.

Except a tool storage panel opened on the truck mid-turn, and 2 complete sets of Snap On socket tools in nice hard cases fell out, as did 2 carriers full of SnapOn wrenches, wrenches were scattered but socket sets remained closed in the case.

Waited 5 minutes for them to come back for their expensive tools, they didn't show, so I pointed 'em out in the road to someone else in a handy-man work truck.

He got LOTS of nice new tools :)

Probably stolen, as were the tools...

Local power company.

If it had been an individual business I probably would've tried to attract their attention, or call them if I could've gotten the number on the truck.

As it is, I'm hoping that loosing a bunch of tools will make whoever was driving think about driving just a little more sanely... or at least securing all loads before cornering at a high rate of speed (for a work truck....)

expensive loss.
The most dangerous places to drive around here, are Lowes and Home Depot. Unsecured loads (lumber esp) are on the pavement almost every day.

karma happens

Hey give me my tools back!

I dropped a few hundred in tools years ago. Turned around immediately, but they were gone before I made it back.

A friend of a friend put his service bodied truck into a ditch a number of years back. We went back to the site in the spring to find more tools when the scrub was not growing yet.

My tool karma is kind of strange. If I find a tool somewhere, I am almost guaranteed to lose one of my own...

I bounced thru a ditch one night while distracted (ahem).......Got up the next morning and my lumber rack if missing from my PU.......When back and found it, loaded it myself.

My bad, had a laptop on the front seat looking for a wif-fi connection. I'm smarter now...

Ouch is right, that was potentially a $1000+ mistake.

Yes, Sir.

Sparks another back-handed compliment for Harbor Freight tools. That would have only been a $30 loss. :D

I use them (HF) but the handful of Snap-On tools I have are gold.
