Wow, dropping 20T is no joke any time any where. I'll bet that made quite the racket. Even if no one had been around, it would have made a sound!

billybek 04-24-2018 04:02 PM

That would squish you like a little tiny bug!
Glad no one was injured.

Will the repairs take place in your port?
That would be good for the economy.
Hmmm, I seem to be hatching a plan here.....

tevake 04-24-2018 06:04 PM

Bet you were really glad they were doing the move themselves.

How many HotRod fabricators can you lower down the hold.

I see you took down the op, are we supposed to not talk about it?

Cheers Richard

well, I thought maybe it wasn't fair of me to post pics of the damage that happened when a hatch cover dropped to the floor of N02 hatch.

This morning we were assigned the job to try and lift the cover out. It went well and now it's on the pier deck.

So perhaps a few pics, although it's an ongoing investigation so not getting too detailed.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1524662277.jpg

Two things: No one injured and our crew not involved in mishap.

dafischer 04-25-2018 06:55 AM

Good that no one was injured, and that you didn't get any on you.

billybek 04-25-2018 07:05 AM

Is the hatch cover bent or just an optical illusion?
Maybe they are made that way?

Nice work by the riggers.

unclebilly 04-25-2018 07:23 AM

Looks bent to me. Will there be engineers involved in the investigation or will it be 'all good, nothing to see here'?

It is bent, in fact buckled in the middle. There will be (is) a bunch of people investigating. This ship could be here for awhile.

So is the hatch cover going to be scrap now or would that be repaired?

matthewb0051 04-25-2018 08:51 AM

This accompanies duct tape for repairs:

Don't know yet, let you know if and when. Guessing can be fixed. Little out of our league but we'll see.

unclebilly 04-25-2018 09:23 AM

How will it ever seal again with that much curvature?

unclebilly 04-25-2018 09:25 AM

How thick is that floor decking it cut through? It there concern about damage to the beams below that deck?

yellowperil 04-25-2018 10:38 AM

Good questions, can't answer that.

Flip it upside down and drop it again. Should bend it back.

Mark Henry 06-04-2018 10:40 AM

Will it fit on a celette bench?

:)

URY914 06-04-2018 12:10 PM

My dad can fix that. He's got an awesome set of tools.

john70t 06-04-2018 12:30 PM

Drop it a couple more times and sell it to X-Games.
