Dog attack that killed baby girl in Sherman Oaks a 'true tragedy,' police say

Quote:
It is unclear which, or how many, of the dogs attacked the baby.

The dogs at the home included a 98-pound Rottweiler, 89-pound Labrador and 10-pound terrier, Carranza said.

A grandmother was babysitting and stepped away "for a few seconds" to get the baby's bottle, Carranza said. The dogs were able to sneak into the room.

Anyone who would leave a 3 mo old unattended is an idiot. Terrible accident but could have been easily avoided.

Probably the labrador because he was sick and tired of all his friends calling him a fat bastard.

It happens.

The idiocy lies in having three dogs and an infant in the same house.

These things happen because people think of dogs as 'modified humans'. If they realised that dogs are 'modified wolves', and treated the dogs accordingly (discipline, pack socialisation, etc) most issues with dog behaviour could be avoided.

Having a new granddaughter in a house which has two dogs (Old English Bulldogs), I can't imagine how the grandmother feels.

The dogs were jealous of the attention the newest pet was getting. Obviously, they could not have been threatened or provoked by anything the infant did. It was pure animal. People don’t understand dogs.

Yep, exactly this. The dogs were pissed of about the baby jumping the pecking order, and sorted it out to teach it some respect.

i know terriers. it might not have done the job, but i bet it ordered the hit.

i had a terrier..a pit bull rushed us and my tiny dog got in front of me, looked back and i swear his face said, "oh, i got this"
