I KNOW!! i hate those types of threads.

but in my defense, my good friend in college had a sweet bluish silver 1973 Tii 2002 that pretty much sealed that car in my personal "hall of fame". i've wanted one for years and years.

man, he totaled that car. i cried harder than he did.

Look at this bomber.......just the condition I usually buy my vehicles in too...lol!

I know this guy - go by his house all the time. He's had quite a few older BMW's in his driveway and I was always tempted to stop for a chat.

Actually - this would be a fun project to have. Very desirable year......

Something seems wrong with the way the side grills meet the center kidney grill.

Me too, I've spotted "Princess Lisa" (!) both on the road (slow) and for years on the 2002 forums (well, avoided more than spotted to be honest, nothing personal I'm just not into internet celebrities) where she revels in the admiration of all the car geeks boys and men. it's kinda funny... Picture if Magnus had only a couple of car but was a girl and you get the effect ;-)

I've been saying for years these cars are a hoot... more fun even than a 911 $ for $ (a flawed metric to be sure if you have the $)... Most times where the driveway parking aligns and I have to choose between the 2002 and 911T, I pick the 02. The stupid car puts a huge smile on my face everytime. It's just so "right" to drive and unpretentious...

I guess I'm starting to get over Petrolicious, happened when they started selling Coffee - maybe beard oil for hipsters is next.... Not over the car though... 02s are cool.

That is a nice looking 2002, the Medford car, right year also.

There was a 76 for sale nearby yesterday, I had to resist going to look at it otherwise it would be in the garage, if it was a pre 73 I would have gone. A 1971 2002 was my first car and will pick up another one at some point, still have a Tii cylinder head sitting on a shelf.

2002 doesn't do it for me. Maybe because I didn't see them growing up... A nicely maintained 190E on the other hand... ok ok the E30 M3 as well, but those are going way up.

I saw the one I posted in person today. Was working in that neighborhood and did a drive by in case the owner was outside.

Had a crazy idea of selling the teener and getting a 2002. No way I have room for another vintage German auto.....

The BMW 2002 was the first car I purchased with my wife in 2001. Fun little car but had nothing on the 79sc targa that we traded it in for...

I saw that, too. Something is wonky there.

This pic is from a car on a lift, viewing from almost directly under the center grill.

74 2002

Sold mine for $8K 2 weeks ago. You win some you lose some. They are fun cars but too busy to restore it properly.
