Snakebit!
Glad the little tyke is recovering.
I've heard horror stories about anti-venom cost and insurance carriers. 6-year-old Oklahoma girl recovering after suffering snake bite while swimming | KFOR.com |
Likely a water moccasin. Fortunately they are not as bad as most Australian snakes.
One of my wife's friends has killed two copperheads on her front porch this week. Two different days. She uses a hoe and chops off the heads. The funny thing is if it was a tiny little spider the same lady would run screaming into the house. They live on 20 acres and have a large field in front of their house. |

Snakebit...........
Last year one of my dogs was bitten by a very large rattlesnake (we think). A trip to the vet, several days stay and two vials of $500 each anti venom later the dog is ok. The wallet, however, was flat as a flitter! I live in South Georgia and we tend to see several different types of venomous snakes here. A while back, we killed a 5-6 ft rattlesnake and not too long before that a neighbor killed a very large water moccasin. We see more Oak snakes (non poisonous) here but even those will cause you to hurt yourself! My antidote for a snake is usually a 20 gauge!

Saw a demo recently of what some cobra venom does to blood.. they put in a few drops in a small jar of blood and minutes later the blood has the consistency of a breast implant... Total jelly ! Damn ! I can see how that would kill you for sure !
