2011-2014 BMW 328i prices?

Not buying but bored today so I go to autotrader and put in a search - Coupe>RWD>under $15K

And a long list of BMW 328i's shows up.

Was that a bad year for the 328?

Again, not buying just curious.

I have a 2015 320i that I absolutely love!
Coming off a 3 year lease in August.
The 320i is a really fun car to drive, only had minor issues,a bad dealership service department had something to do with it. Motor and the 8 speed automatic are well matched. I think my by out on the lease is around 23k car has 11,000 miles.
BMW leases a whole bunch of 328’s

In those years you’ve got the turbocharged N54/N55 engine and the NA N52 engine (328i). I’ve got a 2013 128i with the N52 engine and it is plenty fast. I didn’t want Turbos due to complexity.

Like just about any BMW they can’t seem to make a reliable water pump and in this generation it changed to an electric water pump. The pump itself operates very cleverly but is still prone to failure around 50+ thousand miles. Consider changing it out if no record of it being done. The pump itself is pricier than the old style water pump. Expansion tanks can also crack around the same mileage. I do most all the work on it myself (the procedure to bleed coolant is incredibly simple).

I wanted the 128i for similar reasons: small RWD coupe, preferably German. So far my 128 has been reliable and very fun to drive. Not sure what reliability will be like past 100K miles but my older (and I feel better made) E46 is past 220,000 miles now and will not quit. Hoping the 128 will at least equal it but it is more complex...

Nope, that seems about typical depreciation. That would be an early F3x generation model, and the new generation should be coming out this fall. Allowing for the changes when that gen was updated 3 years ago or so, the 2011-2014 cars are considered pretty out of date for luxury/prestige buyers. They aren't much trouble, but folks nowadays are scared to own something European out of warranty and the earliest F30s are out of CPO-warranty (which lasts 6 years from new), which impacts demand.

My 2007 E90 is positively ancient, which is why it was only $5k last year with just over 100k miles.

This is correct. My 2011 535 X Drive has 115,000 trouble free miles. It still looks new. The Blue book value is less than $15,000.
